Nobody that understands they are actually an alcoholic is proud of it. It sounds like you must hang out with a bunch of high schoolers or something, what adult brags about how many beers they drank?

I thought this thread was going to the opposite about why people are so proud of being in recovery.
I know I’ve seen Mikeybr make comments before about how recovered alcoholics and addicts are all ‘look at me’ about it.
I’m four years sober and I know the toll it takes to be a raging alcoholic and to do something about it. It’s a tall order to straighten your life up after thoroughly destroying after years of abuse.
