I have no doubt that there are racist posts, and racist people who post on the OT. Ive read them too, but not everything people say that is contrary to a persons opposing opinion indicates that they are a racist, or racially motivated. Just as there are racists that litter the protests, it does not mean that everyone who protests is a racist, or a looter, or a violent person, or that what they say has no validity because of that, but just that you cant keep the bad out of your circles. Same goes for cops keeping bad apples out. It is ALL just a sampling of humanity.

Most of them do not think they are racist, they really do not know any better. Which is why they will go on the defensive so hard rather than just listen.


Transplants bring a glimmer of hope, perpetuating a message that most do not want to hear. . As annoying as they can sometimes be, you just take the good with the bad.

Have you ever asked yourself why those laws had to be made? Why there are essentially racial quotas these days? I mean, I hate them, but I sure as shite recognize why they were put in place.

Look at the NFL and the Rooney Rule. You have a league with 75%+ black players and yet there were times when there wasn't a single black coach on any staff. It was inconceivable that there were no black dudes qualified to coach in the league and yet team owners and front offices just wouldn't budge. Soooo, the league forced them to do so. If the FO's had just not been racist fricks in the first place, there would be no Rooney Rule.

You are truly deprived as an Austinite by only having single digit black population. You should demand city and county programs that spare no expense to increase diversity so that you can become more deeply immersed in the richness of the African American culture.
Austin deserves the experience and the oppressed minorities deserve the loving embrace of Austin.
