They were large turkeys that were carnivores.

No thanks.

Big reptiles are pretty much pure muscle. Think of a gator that is fast on ground, look you at almost eye level, and jump. frick that.

I’m confused by this. What do you want them to have, and why wouldn’t they have cloacae considering the overall clade in which they fall?

Turtles have cloaca.
Alligators have cloaca.
Snakes have cloaca
Birds have cloaca.

Apologies if I’m missing some sort of joke.

Gee, how odd. Film producers and directors taking liberty with proven facts to make them fit their story line.

Hell, just about every movie adapted from a popular book, fact or fiction, sees the people making them divert from the original story line to fit what they are trying to get across and it often is not close to how the book reads.

So Raptor would be a white or red meat?

Scientists now refer to dinosaurs as non-avian dinos. So they were birdlike. The meat would be white.

Lmao you think you could take a 30 pound velociraptor? How do you think you would fair against a pissed off turkey that wanted to tear out your neck?

A velociraptor is about the same size and created for violence with sharp claws and teeth. It would tear your arse up.

How the hell would they even know any of this? Muh “hollow bones, guess dinosaurs were actually birds

Iirc, in a few locations where dinosaur fossils have been found, they have found mud casts of the animals - basically the dino dies, falls into mud, mud hardens into rock, dino decomposes and bones fossilize.

Based on these casts they have determined that some dinosaurs had scales and others had feathers.

For some real interesting reading, go to the Utah Museum of Natural History and see how they figured out what colors certain dinosaurs were.

Science doesn't think they were fully covered in feathers like a chicken. Think like if a chicken had a feathered mane like a lion. New models are actually a little more badass than the movies imo. Also, they used the name velociraptor because it as a more intimidating name. The raptors from the movies were actually modeled after the species Deinonychus but they didn't like that species name so they used the name of the smaller velociraptor.
