That is a choice. It's a helluva lot different when the choice is taken away from you.

Buying gasoline is a choice as well.

I know you’re joking. But this shite could have been handled in 1979 if Jimmy Carter hadn’t been such a worthless pussy.
Or in 1953 if the UK weren't so greedy....

So you're one of those people who thinks rising gas prices begin and end at the pump?

Because it comes from people who always have the same stupid predicable behavior. Their parents spoiled them growing up but when they get out on their own, they can't afford that lifestyle. Instead of doing what the rest of us did and start from the bottom, they consistently whine about how hard life is for them and how it's harder for them than any generation who came before them, all while living in air conditioned places with indoor plumbing, paying $7 for coffee, having a closet full of clothes, door dashing multiple times a week, and typing their gripes into a $1000 cell phone with a $65 a month plan.
I'm not sure if you're aware of this but there are people who are actually poor out there

Because they may not be able to afford their daily $8 Starbucks.
The higher gas prices have hit people a lot less than bad spending habits have.

You’re still blaming Carter 46 years later? I get he caused it but another president should have cleaned up his mess by now.

No dumbass. I know that buying gasoline is a choice. A choice you do not have to make, but do for the sake convenience.
Any other stupid questions about anything else I did not allude to?

$100 dollars a month is a big deal to some people

Psychology of Spending (a book that should be read!)...
People will worry about that latte that they purchase (and not altogether a bad thing...), while having already forfeited 6 or 7 figures of their future wealth / financial independence...
In their poor financial decisions to buy that big ole home and accept $700/month notes on each of the cars they drive, like it does not matter. THIS MATTERS!
Yet, gasoline price goes up $1 (effectively costing them $500/year), and they chit the bed.
They are focused on the rounding errors and not what REALLY matters.

Yes I’m blaming him. He was the one who turned his back on Iran, our closest ally in the Middle East at that time, and allowed the 1979 revolution to happen. And he had the chance to kill the revolution in its infancy but instead did nothing. And Iran even gave him the perfect opening by seizing our embassy (a blatant attack on sovereign American territory) and taking American citizens hostage. He made a single lame attempt at a “rescue” then when that didn’t work he did nothing. He made the US a laughing stock on the world stage.
Yes, presidents after him could have dealt with Iran. But he had the best chance to deal with it from the beginning before Iran had a chance to gain strength. Instead, he did nothing.
And let’s not forget that on top of his failure in Iran, that idiot peanut farmer from Georgia also gave away the freaking Panama Canal!
Was he a nice, decent guy? From all available evidence he was. But that doesn’t change the fact as POTUS he went beyond being inept to the point of seriously hurting the US from a strategic standpoint and caused many of the problems we’ve been dealing with for the last almost half century. If not for Biden, he’d be the clear winner of “worst POTUS of the past 150 years” award, and he was clearly the worst president of the 20th century. So, if you want to thank someone for paying $4.00+ for gas today, look no further than Jimmy Carter.

I’m currently driving a ford maverick as my company provided vehicle. It looks like if a twink designed a truck. It got me to houston on a single tank of gas (from the BR area) and took like 10 gallons to fill up.
I understand hybrids have their issues, but man it seems to make sense from a fuel efficiency and performance perspective.

well that's a little simplistic. You're already battling inflation and the rising prices of goods, fuel going up causes more increases...especially companies are really quick to pass that off to the consumer vs relief when fuel is cheap.
it doesn't help when this "conflict" is also viewed as pretty unnecessary
