Why are fast food workers ridiculed and scorned?

I see scorn for fast food workers (and not just bad fast food workers) - people making fun of them, insulting their employment, etc.
Why? At least they are working rather than sitting at home drawing a check. Most of the FF workers here do their job just fine. I saw a young brother who works at our Popeye's doing custodial work at a truck stop/convenience store - two jobs.
I have respect for people who work, and do their best to do their jobs. It is a loafers who should be the subject of our scorn.
BRB, gotta sack up a few more fries.

The majority of fast food workers have really shitty attitudes while they serve you your shitty fast food.

I respect people who handle my food. But the experience is different between McDonalds/Burger King and Chick Fil A. Way different.

Shitty fast food workers get my minimal respect for doing what they should do (work) and nothing else, same as I hold for anyone who doesn't try to perform their work well.
Those who work hard and clearly take their job seriously get nothing but respect from me without regard to how little they might make.

Because they are absolute shite except for Chick-fil-a, and maybe canes.

I've been to Japan. Go look at a crowded Japanese parking lot and compare it to one of ours. You could go on a long time with those type comparisons.
