Can’t have it both way. The Republican ticket is largely trash and filled with repressive and regressive legislation and initiatives. Americans keep voting for these awful politicians that push these laws, then complain about how much they suck.
It’s an annoying cycle.

Louisiana is last in education, health, and infrastructure. Open container laws. But those flourish. Is porn restrictions really going to stop people in the south from being last in everything? I’ll hold my breath

You know, you can still look at porn. It's not banned.

The Speigel catalog rocked. You could see nip and pubes in their ads.

What's stupid is if it's like Louisiana they only block like the top 5 most popular sites, yet there are 1000's of porn sites.
You can go straight into xvideos.com. Be right back.

Are you in Texas? Why can’t you? It’s not illegal for anyone 18 and up? If pornhub like social media does not want to invest in age verification processes than I am sure you can legally view it in other ways than using a Texas IP address. It is only the companies not verifying ages being held responsible thru civil means.

A State may not prohibit adults from accessing content that is obscene only to minors,” noted Thomas. “But, it may enact laws to prevent minors from accessing such content.”
Thomas pointed out the many laws at the state and federal level that require proof of age:
Alcohol
Tobacco
Lottery ticket
Tattoo
Piercings
Fireworks
Driver’s license
Purchase certain medications
Guns
“Obscenity is no exception to the widespread practice of requiring proof of age to exercise age-restricted rights. The New York statute upheld in Ginsberg required age verification: It permitted a seller who sold sexual material to a minor to raise “‘honest mistake’” as to age as an affirmative defense, but only if the seller had made “‘a reasonable bona fide attempt to ascertain the true age of [the] minor.’” 390 U. S., at 644. Most States to this day also require age verification for in-person purchases of sexual material. And, petitioners concede that an in-person age verification requirement is a “traditional sort of law” that is “almost surely” constitutional. Tr. of Oral Arg. 17.”

Yea, no one wants to put their personal information into a porn site. Nor should they have to.
It’s also just performative nonsense. Kids will still watch porn as often as they want to. They are more than capable of having a Reddit account, for example.

Nothing about this law will prevent one single person from watching porn. It’s nothing but virtue signaling, which everyone should oppose categorically.

Yes.

Because we've gotta save the chil'ren. Heaven forbid parents actually......parent. They need the gubment to do it for them.
Tech doesn’t make it easy for parents. Apple’s screen time has been one of buggiest pieces of software they have made. They still don’t allow DNS selection to be locked down at the system level of the phone or iPad under restrictions allowing more ways to bypass settings made by parents thru screen time. When screen time works it was not 100%, but it was decent. It just didn’t work a lot. Also, big tech’s view on what is an adult site and was is not also doesn’t tend to match my definition.
Regardless in reality all a law like Texas’s does is require age verification by the company which is done for many things already.

They have a process that is basically based on the honor system.

Adults can do whatever they want, you just have to submit to age verification.
