She voted for Hillary because I voted for Trump. She wanted to cancel out my vote lol.

She knows the left is heading in the wrong direction.

I mean, give some legit reasons to have actually voted for Hillary. She was an awful candidate.

Umm no. They are lucky to be sitting on some of the best land in the world.

Give the residents and politicians of California a state like Oklahoma or New Mexico and I guarantee you it doesn't make a spec on the world stage

They were both horrible.
That wa the biggest frick up ever.

My only reason. After four years of her we could have gotten someone competent to run.
Now we will flip blue again for a while.

Trump is proving pretty competent with the amount he's accomplishing. I think any non-biased person could admit that.

ETA: Typical of the libs here, not willing to say Trump does anything good.

that's pretty funny. My sister is somewhat of a hipster who lives in SF and works for a marketing agency with a bunch of hipsters. She's actually conservative though but refused to vote for Trump because she thought he was a clown.

I voted for Trump but I had a hard time arguing that he wasn't a clown.

I can't help but laugh at people who live in Baton Rouge and crap on SF and call it a dump, talking about how they would never live in a place like that. Never mind that they couldn't afford to live there, but SF is in a completely different world in terms of quality compared to BR. They look at SF's worst neighborhoods and compare it to BR's best.

These are the people you're dealing with. They're delusional.
you are the delusional one if you think this is really what people do.

The normal person compared what they could afford in Sanfran without sacrificing the luxuries they have in LA. And to do that they would have to live in a dump. Hell even making sacrifices a family with a combined income of 200k would not be living in a great place in Sanfran. There is a big difference between what you can get for your money in San Fran and LA.

And dont give me this "Well that can more to folsom" crap. Of course they can, but we are comparing LA to Sanfran not LA to other more affordable places in Cali.

Because most people are idiots and once people are sold on a perception, it becomes reality to them.

Anyone living in Louisiana, including myself, really shouldn't hate a state because of it's politics. Liberal, conservative, democrat, republican, as corrupt our politics is.... Another state's politics shouldn't really be a reason to hate a state.

Plus, if I am not mistaken.. Isn't north California more conservative? California is a huge state so it's not like everyone who lives there has the same views.

With that said, the only part of California I have been to is L.A. and I can do without going there again. But I am not judging a whole state based on one city.

Well, it's kind of a chicken and egg thing. People initially moved out there (film studios, followed a few decades later by tech companies) because of the weather and geography.

Short of making the United States a smaller, landlocked country, California was always going to eventually happen.

I agree. I held my nose and voted for Trump but I didn't care for him much. It was more of a vote against Hillary. I'm more of a Rand Paul Conservatarian type

I'm in the same boat as you. It is even more difficult today because I truly like his policy decisions and trade agreements but hate all of his Twitter antics

Oh I fully admitted he was a clown to her. I just said I was voting against Hillary.

That family, the Bush's, and Obama are all the same people. All crooks and I'll never vote for any of them.

He's not doing bad considering 98% of the media and govt is out to get him. Blacks aren't being murdered anymore than before and still have the same rights as Obama's time, the gays haven't had any rights taken away and can still be gay, and the economy is rolling.

I shouldn't have made a joking comment to SFP. You poliboard guys love the discussion.
But it should stay there.

Both Republicans and democrats are shamists and shiesters.

Over half my friends from Cali have befriended or blocked me on FB and I didn't even vote for Trump. And I've known some 15+ years

Don't get me wrong - I've actually unfollowed some of my own liberal friends I met in college for being way too over the top and constantly posting political shite. You definitely see it from both sides when it comes to social media. Luckily, myself and my close friends don't really use social media for that stuff. We prefer shitposting memes.

That said, I've also defriended some people from my hometown for the same reason. I'm surprised people defriended you because you're definitely NOT some "HAR HAR LIBERAL SNOWFLAKES SUCK" type of dude. But I understand defriending that type, and that's the type I got rid of (well, that and the chicks who were married to cops - god their posts were insufferable). Regardless of side, I don't want to see that shite all over social media.

And for me, the difference between here and California is that I hear a lot of that in my real life. And so far (granted it has only been 3 years), I don't see people doing that in public. I also am treated 100x better in grocery stores, fast food restaurants, gas stations, etc. over there. We have some rude as frick store clerks here That has nothing to do with politics, I know.

My sister used to live in SF (now Austin). She's a pot smoking hippy and probably voted for Hillary. I know she went to the women's march with my 12 yr old niece. I trolled her about it a bit on FB when I was still on it

Depends where you live there, I would not necessarily advertise that I'm a Republican in say, downtown SF, but you could do it in Orange County and San Bernadino as well as Ventura and Santa Barbara as well as the Central Coast communities......I was there in the run up to the 2016 election there were Trump signs en masse.

When deciding where t live especially if my livelihood is dependent on it, the last thing I'm worried about are the political leanings of my neighbors or the people in general...that takes politics to a ridiculous extreme.....of course, there are some very ridiculous people on the pRant
