Blowing 58k on a truck is an unwise decision for people making $250k. What a waste of money. You can get a well equipped truck for 32k.

You're living in the past. The average new vehicle price in 2024 is almost $49,000.

I see a lot of .9% 1.9%. But damn truck prices are still high. I’m an OT poor and can only afford a $600 note.

Recently purchased an F250 with extended crew cab from a local dealer here. Truck was 94k and loan rate was 48% (managed to talk it down from 61% with a larger down payment).

Damn, I'm wanting to push my vehicles as long as I can. We have about 85 and 117 on ours. Paid off. The prices are staggering.

Save yourself the trouble, buy a used truck and put that $600 a month into a Roth IRA.

Don't take the downvotes personally, most OTers are are avid wrastlin' fans, porn addicts, and alcoholics.

Everyone’s opinion on vehicles is different.

To some they want something nice and will pay a high chunk of their budget monthly on because spend a lot of time weekly in there commuting. Might as well get what you want if you’re gonna basically live in there.

To others that don’t commute or don’t have a long commute it’s just transportation to get from A to B.

$34K trucks are the basic white fleet work trucks.

Correct. I priced trucks before I bought the MINI. Most of the mid trim trucks I looked at were more than the MINI. Full size trucks like a Tundra were $65,000 and up. Mostly up.

A lot of them have gone up 50-60% in the last 6-7 years.

Did you not shop your loan before purchasing?

It's not hard to find credit unions offering < 5% on a 60 month.

You’d be surprised by how many people have a lot of nice things but almost no cash.

They work just fine too.

And so do mid sized trucks line the Chevy Colorado or the Honda Ridgeline. You can get those for much cheaper than a full sized truck.

As a business owner, I saved 20k on taxes by purchasing a new(er) truck. It was either upgrade my ride or give it to Ukraine.
