The pro fighter would kill the seal very easily
Seals are trained how to work efficiently as a unit. They don't really spend that much time in hand to hand street fighting

If a seal is in hand to hand combat with no weapons something has gone really wrong. Thier hand to hand combat is a last resort. Pro fighter wins as that is his first resort.

In unarmed hand to hand combat, what is the seal better at? He's definitely not better at striking. He's definitely not better on the ground.

Seals are dangerous MFers with weapons. Unarmed hand to hand combat is not their speciality. It is the speciality of the professional fighter. That's all they do and they are damned good at it.

Chokes out the seal-------then chooses to kill him however he wants
Arm bar and breaks his right arm, moves on and arm bars his left arm-----then chooses to kill him however he wants
Knocks him out with a head kick-----chooses to kill him however he wants

From what I've been reading (and God, it has been entertaining!), a lot of people are saying the SEAL wins in a "street fight" because of one of the following reasons:
1) SEALs are armed to the teeth at all times.
2) It's a "street fight" and MMA guys apparently have just trained in an organized, structured setting from day one.
3) It's a street fight so of course the SEAL will either just use his greater situational awareness to find a sharpened stick and stick it through the MMA guy's ear and into his brain. Or find some loose random cord and garotte him with it. Or use that Kill Bill trick to snatch the MMA guy's eye out.
4) SEALs have killer instincts while guys like War Machine have limits and would never push things too far.

If we're talking no weapons at all then an MMA fighter wins easily. People have this impression from movies that SEALs are ninjas with machine guns. They are proficient in use of weapons to take out their target in the quickest way possible without getting caught. While they do have some hand to hand combat training, things would have to go seriously wrong for them to be in a situation where they are physically fighting people.

In a street fight with no rules of contact? I put money on the Seal. Those guys are rigorously trained to kill. Being a good fighter is one thing, being a killer is something else. Seals are killers.
ETA: Not to mention Seals and other special forces types are some of the most mentally tough people on the planet. Even if you happen to be a better fighter than them, you still will have a horrible time trying to break them.

anyone that thinks a seal will beat a top level professional mma fighter in a fight is retarded.
there is a reason the seals have started training using mma techniques and paying mma fighters to train them.

This is the key. Even their 1 operators spend relatively little time training for hand to hand without weapons or actually with weapons for that matter. As long as the weight "class" was similar a pro MMA fighter would destroy a tier 1 operator UNLESS they happen to have trained extensively in martial arts outside the military. If it is a "kill" fight the MMA fighter might be slightly less efficient at the end but the Seal would be unconscious or subdued in a manner that would not require a quick kill.
