Who was the greatest American soldier?
Every single American who died in battle for our country.
There are hundreds of soldiers/marines who died in battle whose bravery was never made public.

Sorry but if my memory is correct Washington was 3-6 no way the greatest soldier in us history has a losing battle record.

When I first got on the fire dept I met a man who'd call us out to his house for an ambulance. He of course was old as hell, this was nearly 20 years ago. He was wheelchair bound, had a blind dog who was mean as shite. He had a purple heart and several medals in his trailer. His house was a wreck with dog feces and his own feces everywhere. I had a buddy look up his name and he was legit on the purple heart. Has been disabled since the war and had shrapnel all in his back.
He would call us there to pick him up off the floor or just to talk. We had to leave and he'd ask us to read phone # off his wheelchair so he could call them and just talk. We tried to get him into assisted living or somewhere better but he refused. No shite, his dog died, and less than a week later, old man had died. Sad deal, but he was apparently a good soldier.

Don't know about greatest, but Carlos Hathcock's mission to kill a Viet-cong general is remarkable.

Donald Trump. He is Commander-in-Chief after all.

“Marine Sniper” by Charles Henderson is a great read about Carlos Hathcock, if you haven’t already read it.
