We used to eat there pretty often and really like their breakfast. For lunch and supper, country-fried steak and hash brown casserole are favorites.
We haven't been to the one here in Montgomery for a while, mostly because the service went downhill drastically. We have seen this to a lesser degree when we have gone in other locations while traveling.
This downward trend in service seems to be a trend across the country in many chains. Probably part of the reason people are opting for the "fast casual" format (stand in line to order, staff brings you the meal.)
I would be all over it if a Vicious Biscuit opened in Montgomery.
Post covid the service and cleanliness of most family friendly, sit down restaurants has gone dramatically down hill. Formerly, affordable, fast, clean places are disgusting with sticky floors, rude staff and an incompetent kitchen. You're "nice" places are still good sine they have low staff turnover, but the "training restaurants" for the service industry are all shite now.

Not gonna lie, all this Cracker Barrel talk has given me a hankering for some of their breakfast.
Let’s be honest, all white people will frick with Cracker Barrel. They even put it in the name.

We like to stop there on our way out of town if we are day-tripping. I almost always order breakfast, no matter the time of day. My spouse likes their sides, so often orders lunch or dinner if it’s late. When traveling, CB is a safe and decent break. Family visits usually include at least one meal at the local CB, since everyone can get something they like there. The country store has some decent things mixed in with the kitsch, and I appreciate that I can pick up candy there that is getting harder to find elsewhere.

Boomers, mostly.
I’ve eaten there 2x (breakfast) over the last 6-7 years.

I do, but only when I am driving on the interstate out in the middle of nowhere and there are no alternatives.

Boomers do love CB. Better than going to Golden Corral though.

Usually only for breakfast on road trips
Do maybe 3-4 times per year

My son professional rodeos. Me and the wife “vacation” by taking road trips to go watch him. Sunday mornings we make the drive home to start our work week but I know if there is a Cracker Barrel close I can get a damn good breakfast.

Country folks who drive on vacation or long trips have long been its clientele. This was a worse screw up than the Bud Light commercial for them because the restaurant industry's margins are rough to begin with.

Cracker Barrel breakfast kicks arse. I have no idea where this negativity, specific to their food, is coming from.

My parents are 70, they probably been there at least once this week, last time I ate there, traveling back from family wedding with them. It’s what old people do. They get off the interstate and eat at Cracker Barrel. They’re not in a huge hurry like the rest of us and they don’t travel with toddlers who only want drive thru chicken and fries and like to throw a shite fit when you suggest a restaurant that has an actual waitstaff.

Who remembers when Cracker Barrel was a chain of convenience stores/gas stations (think Circle K) which branched out into prepared food and gifts (think micro-Buccees with a country kitch) before becoming a full fledged restaurant?
You’re thinking of a different Cracker Barrel.

Or maybe they don't want to shite their guts out the next day. A lot of people have digestive issues if they eat curry.
I do see your point though. Many of us are not particularly adventurous when it comes to food. If I am going to pay for a meal, I want to be reasonably sure that I will like it.

I don’t know if you are really this stupid or if you are just pretending to be

You’ve never had some buttermilk pancakes and bought yourself one of these at one place, and it shows.

If I had a choice, I'd pick waffle house every day

You aren’t very good at the triangle golf-tee game, are you?
