I don't eat there very often. Maybe once or twice a year and typically either on a road trip or when we are visiting the wife's family, because they live in a rural spot.

Not going to say it's the best food ever or even anything close to a favorite. There's there's nothing wrong about their chicken fried steak, hashbrown casserole, fried okra and fried apples. It hits the spot for a fairly decent price when options are very limited.

Can't say that I ever eaten there except for breakfast and it's been 3-4yrs since I was there. But the French toast was some of the best I've had.

Great. Catfish being fed corn to go along with all the other processed grains and nasty oils and overall cheap ingredients the use.

Breakfast there is superior and always consistent. Best pancakes anywhere. Bacon is thick cut. Biscuits, if that is your thing, are better than anything you can get at McDonalds.

100%

If we could get the eggs to not be lukewarm, that'd be great.

It was the only not fast food restaurant in my town growing up, so it’s nostalgic.

But as I’ve said in all the million other Cracker Barrel threads, they lost me when they got rid of eggs in a basket.

Pretty fond of the chicken fried steak and fried apples with biscuits for breakfast. The people saying that Waffle House has better food… no, I just don't think so. WH has its place, but its pretty mid as chow goes.

Food might be good...but every one of the CBs I've been to has the worst service of any restaurant I've ever been too....well except Huddle House...HH ties CB for that.

It's consistent (at least it was until 2015 or so). I used to drive all over the south for my summer job delivering valves and stopped at many.

You saw fights at every Waffle House?

I used to travel a lot for work and never chose to eat at Cracker Barrel since they don't serve booze. Never stepped foot in the place for that reason. I quit drinking long ago but have still never visited.

The self-righteous food takes on the OT are quite entertaining.

Pretty sure every town that has this trash place has a real local country type of dish down the road that taste way better.
That are closed on Sunday.

I went there one time and it tasted worse than hospital food and was boring as hell there. no thanks.

You probably should not go back.

Which makes it a great place to stop when travelling. You can get breakfast offerings any time of day, if memory serves.

Husband does not want to go into towns or cities to eat so proximity at the exit is nice

My FIL gets irrationally angry if we don't stop at whatever place is less than 500 yards from the exit ramp. One time I drove us down like 2 miles to a Wendy's. He almost lost his mind.

I ate there once in the 90s as a kid. Didn't like it. Haven't gone back and don't regret it.
