Cribbage is my favorite card game of all times.
Side note, do you know you cannot score a 19 in a hand of cribbage?
I love crib and I would hope every serious player knows that.
I also play connect four in the garage while on a smoke break.

We call it Pitch up here. Many different names and variations of this game based on your region. We play a partnership, auction style Pitch variant.
Pinochle is the same way. When I was in college, the first time I played pinochle with some buddies we all argued "this isn't how we play pinochle back home", and every single one of us was from a different part of Iowa or South Dakota. Different rules for different areas.

Yahtzee
Risk
Checkers
Chess...it amazes me that I can still hustle a few folks out of $$$ with the "fool's mate" 2 move checkmate bet.

buddy of mine introduced me to 7 card cribbage a few years ago and i'll never go back to 6 card, it's so much better. if it's your crib you have the option of putting 2 or 3 in the crib. scoring is the same but much higher, the new high is 46! everyone i've gotten to try it is a convert

I love playing games. My husband and I play a lot of cribbage and different card games. We've been playing Canasta a lot lately. And Yahtzee. That's always a fun one.

There are so many modern games that have replaced the classics and are so much better.

Joker? We never played with jokers but 4 was the most you could get. I think we eventually made it to where you would get 5 points if you won all the tricks plus having the jack(or is this game?) It has been a while for me too.
Dick your buddy was another fun game. I remember in high school playing this game with some friends for money, among other card games. Tunk was the favorite, but Cadillac was another good one (you try to get 31 points, with only 3 cards, aces are worth 11).
Speed is a great game with 2 people and can get pretty intense.
