Who here is good at Ping Pong?

Looking for some serving pointers. I'm an average player but my serves aren't very good at all (no creativity). How can I learn to serve with the different type of spins?

Instead, ask
Is there a Chinaman in the house?

It isnt ping pong.
It is called Table Tennis.

get someone across the table and practice, a hard side spin is was always better for me than top or back spin. a topspin thrown in the mix is good once or twice a game though.
The trick is being to pull off multiple spins from the same position, if you telegraph what you are doing it is pointless.

Push it, pull it (second best), or go over the top (best). Otherwise, a serve doesn't really matter that much. What you need to do is get your endurance up by running, and running, and running everywhere you go.

To me the best serve is with top spin. You can hit it harder, make it go faster, and it will stay down. Every now and then mix in one with a back spin that dies and it's almost a guaranteed point!

I grew up with a table, best serves I had were backspin

Ask King Kong. He went to Hong Kong to play ping pong, and he didn't even use a paddle.

I agree with this because against better competition a ball up even a little bit is gonna get smacked right back at you for a pernt.
After top, I pull it or push it. I don't prefer back spin. I prefer having some speed on the ball.

I asked about a serve, not endurance. make your own thread

For beginners, let a high bounce return fall a little farther toward to floor on your end of the table. Upward chop to the backside of the ball will create the topspin.
Once you get the hang of how to return using topspin, You won't need a high bounce return to nail it.
Practicing said procedure should produce more desired results.

WTF is practice? The OP wants to play Ping Pong, not table tennis.
