Breesus has (or soon will).

You think bored soldiers are above shooting local wild life? Doesn't seem like a stretch to me.

I shot a man in Reno...just to watch him die.

There is no doubt in my mind this didn't happen. He may have told you he did, but he lied.
Killing a stray dog in a third world country probably helps more than it hurts. Rabies would be a terrible way to go.

I don't see what is so unbelievable about it. It's like calling bull shite on my saying that I had pizza for lunch today. Why would I lie about it?

I had an acquaintance who was in the army and deployed to Afghanistan. He said that shooting stray dogs for target practice was very common for soldiers. It's one of those things where you don't know what to say, so you just change the subject real quick.
I never heard of anyone shooting dogs just for target practice while deployed, but we definitely shot some while on patrol on occasion for various legitimate reasons. They are motherfricking everywhere in Iraq, especially at night, and most are pretty diseased and scruffy. Muslims generally don't take dogs in as pets, so they are like rats in these places. They are also scared to death of the military dogs.

I shot my dad in the back with a bb gun when I was about 10 while he was mowing. Boy did I learn my lesson!

I haven't stabbed anyone, but several years ago I had a crazy ex who once stabbed me with a pair of scissors.

I placed a gun under the chin of some fella. But I got what I wanted without having to pull the trigger.

Maybe phrasing it like target practice was poor phrasing. He did make it sound like they were nuisances.

They generally don't like dogs over there. They are like vermin to them. There's plenty of other shite over there to shoot. We treated the dogs better than they did.

Stabbed no
Shot no
Shot at, yes

Who here has shot or stabbed anyone?
Listen detective, this is a shitty way to find a suspect, get your arse out on the beat.

At a drunken NYE party, a very good buddy of mine was raring back to stab me in the arm again with a grilling fork.
Already bleeding down my arm and hurting a surprising amount given our drunken state, I grabbed the nearest utensil to defend myself from further attacks.
He let out a scream that stopped the party and recoiled instantly from delivering his next blow when I smashed him across the knuckles with what I thought was a bread or butter knife.
Blood poured out of the 2 inch gash across the back of his hand.
Upon further inspection, the knife was serrated on one side--the side I didn't see when I picked it up--though its profile was completely smooth.
3 extensor tendon repairs later (EDC4, EDC5, and EDQM for those curious), we're still good friends.

I won't say it doesn't happen but when I was in the army I signed for and was accountable for my rounds. Shooting dogs would have earned me an article 15 at the least.

I was that bored Soldier. Even the worst in leadership would not allow this. We did stupid shite, but not that stupid.
