I’m sure there are plenty of people who never left the US before. When they talk about going north they mean a trip to Canada.

I've been to most of the states but I've never left the country. I'm just a xenophobe and I think the US is the best country in the world and all other countries suck. Why would I want to leave?

Actually the opportunity has just never presented itself. A few chances at work but they've been to places like Jordan and Iraq.. no thanks.

Plenty of people have never even left their home state. I once had someone come up here to DC from Georgia who apparently expected MS-13 gang members on every street corner. He seemed disappointed that it's actually white-collar professionals with six-figure incomes everywhere.

I've been to Canada and Mexico a few times. Hoping to do Europe in the next 5 years.

I have left the US and there are lots of great cultural reasons to do so.

But the US is the unparalleled leader when it comes to variety of topography, climates, scenery, and recreational opportunities. And no one is a close second.

You could a lifetime of awesome vacations without leaving the 50 states.

China might be #2. Russia loses out when it comes to warm/tropical coastal options.

And I don’t think they anything even remotely similar to our National Park system

DC money is mostly non-politician, non tax payer funded.

Huge lobbying firms, law firms, and even a substantial private equity presence.

Barely, I've been to the Bahamas. A lot of places I plan to travel to but it's strange to me that people travel around the world before discovering their own home country.
