Got popped with 37 lbs of pot in Houston back in mid 70s. Spent 2 weeks in Harris county jail. Charges got thrown out cause the cops had forged the judges judge's name on the warrant. It was a shithole. End if my foray into Mexican imports.

I went to jail once... Had a bench warrant that was 5+ years old for running a stop sign. Cop wouldn't let me off even though when I go as issued it a friend told me his dad could get it taken care of.
Sat one night in general population and hated when I was told to put on the orange jumpsuit.

Lots of criminals here. Not surprising, given y'all's low moral compass.

I was locked up on the fifth floor of the Dallas Courthouse the night Ralph Sampson and Jerry Sichting got in a fight during the 1986 NBA Finals. Watching that game with my fellow oppressed citizens was a glorious experience! As soon as the game ended, the 19" TV that 28 of us were all watching, went off. It was nearly 11pm, and the regulars told me the TV, and the lights, normally got cut off at 10 pm.
Watching the game, is a fond memory, but hearing everyone's arrest story after we all went to bed, was an even richer experience. One guy said he was there because he pushed a Dominos delivery guy down, and took a medium pepperoni pizza from him. When a friend, who was in the seven man cell next to ours, asked, "Why'd you do that?", the man said, "I was hongry."
After we all stopped laughing, the guy in the other cell asked how he got caught, and the guy said, "They drove up on me eating it about three blocks away."
The pizza thief then asked him what he did, and the storytelling continued.
A couple of minutes before that, the guy in the other cell had heard the pizza thief talking with us, and asked, *Clarence, is that you? " He couldn't see us, but recognized his friend's voice. He them asked him what he did to get arrested.
One guy said, "God d*mn!" , when I told them I had written a bad $12 check at Tom Thumb, and forgotten to go take care of it. They couldn't believe I was in jail over that. Mine was the least entertaining story for sure.
Before I was taken over to the courthouse, I was in a big holding cell at the Lew Sterrett Justice Center. I overheard an educational conversation about which Texas prisons have the best food. The two guys having the conversation looked like the two guys that told Billy Ray Valentine it wasn't cool to be a jive turkey. One said he got to eat as much steak as he wanted, when he worked in a prison's kitchen.
Me listening to that conversation ended when a guy came up and asked me if I was some kind of junior executive. I had on a suit because I had been working before my arrest. This guy was on some kind of stimulant, and couldn't quit talking. He asked if I was a drug dealer next. I just said no, and laughed at him. For some reason went on a tirade about how he used to box. He said, "I fought n'ggers, white dudes, Puerto Ricans."
that's when I glanced up at the two big guys, and saw they were looking, and listening to my conversation now. I just got up, and went as far away as I could. There was a commotion, and a bunch of fools in there ran over to see what was happening. I never turned around to see what occurred.
After a buddy came and played my bail, there really was a line to stand behind at the window where they gave you back your personal belongings. They jumped all over me for stepping over it when putting on my pants. I'd had to wear an orange jumpsuit once I got transferred from The Lee to the courthouse.

2 hours in the Lincoln Parish Detention Center for a outstanding traffic warrant. I was 17 and the worst part was when my Mom came to get me. I was a junior in HS and I took one look at her, 1:30 in the morning and knew things were about to get rough

I've visited Alcatraz if that counts.

Honestly I have a sneaky suspicion that at least half of these stories are fake. And that's not even counting the 2 guys who are obviously joking and aren't even intending for people to believe them. (The guy who claimed he was in for 19 years before escaping through shite and piss and the guy who said he was in Angola for one day.)

41 days awaiting trial for cultivation when I was 18. I thought I was a badass until I spent some time locked in a cage with murderers. LA took marijuana seriously in the early 90s.
The guy that ran the wing, who was in for kidnapping, murder and rape (he hit for thecycle) set up fights between newbies from other wings when we went out to the rec area. Good times.

Jail wasn't that hard. You get used to anything. It was mostly boring. Only thing I really remember is how much people in jail like to watch the show cops and law and order.

Twice...once for possession of pot. 2nd time was disturbing peace.
2 hours both times.

Spent 45 days between BRPP, Catahoula, then back to BRPP but in the back. Court shite got mixed up and I missed a court date so there was a warrant out for me. A friend was pulled over for a light issue and the cop informed me about the warrant. I was shocked when the judge the next morning said 90 days in parish prison. Go to court kids no matter what.
45 days for not showing up? What was the court date for?
