Was told one time that my resume and job experience was too good for the job. I later found out they wanted to hire me but the hiring manager thought even if they hired me that I’d jump ship as soon as a better job or a job in my field came available.
They didn’t want to take the time and $$$$ to train me only to have me leave when better opportunities became available. Their thinking was a less experienced applicant might have loyalist to a company that gave them an opportunity.

If I were in your shoes I would maybe look at a job with an apprenticeship. Something you can quickly get to work, not have to go to school and start providing while also learning. Electrician/trade jobs are increasing demand (or so I hear)

Most places aren't hiring.
But, crap like petroleum inspection might.
Not great work. But, would get some more "plant" experience.
Wouldn't be a terrible way to get through 6 months to a year until plants hiring again.

If I were to lose my job I’d be searching nationwide for something that met my skill set. I’d get in touch with recruiters I’ve dealt with in the past and tell them I’m open to anywhere. Hell probably worldwide

you might be able to find something with that degree in Environmental Consulting
with O&G being down, I'm not sure if many consultants are hiring, but with your plant background and degree, any consulting firm will be interested in you, if they are hiring

Dunno but round here Target is hiring. Whole foods is hiring. Some others. The post office prolly needs help. Banks are still hiring. Gotta be willing to move in times like these.

I apply for jobs every day & I've had dozens of interviews but so far nothing solid yet. I'm not too concerned I know the right thing will come along for me sooner or later. I passed up on a position in the Chicago area just decided I couldn't move that far away from my home base.

Furloughed in Tempe back in March. Took opportunity to move back to Louisiana with wife. She got a transfer. I did not. I worked one job for 1 day and quit, offered another job and didn't accept. Back to square 1 now.

My position was eliminated due to covid and I have been fortunate enough to find a much better job, healthier work environment and as a bonus I'm making more money. Hang in there and just keep sending resumes. Lean on people you know in various industries and network

April was when I was laid off. I've woken up every weekday at 7:30 and applied to every job that I'm qualified and interested in. I've landed 4 phone interviews, and one in person with well over 150 applications. I keep being told that hiring has been put on hold until phase 3. The other jobs either stay open on indeed or linkedin eternally, or only up for a few hours. I have 12 years of experience in my current field, an associates, as well as a few "respected" certifications.
I sent my resume out to 5 "resume professionals" as well as 5 mentors and former supervisors. I ended up with 10 completely different opinions on my resume. Complete waste of money on the "resume professionals".
