love the way older toyotas were designed. No bells, no whistles, no frills, just rock solid engines and dependability.

I have a truck but also have an 80 mile round trip for work daily so I recently picked up this 97 Camry for $2500, only has 116k on it.

Was driving it thru 8 inches of snow two weeks ago

My favorite are the shiny F250's jacked up with 'Man Stickers' and drop down hitch. You know how I know they are plant workers aside from a brand new truck? That tow hitch ball chrome is perfect. Brush your hair in that mirror...lol.

Been driving beaters my whole life. Currently rocking a 06 silverado. Can pull almost anything i need with it. Easy to work on and parts are abundant and cheap.

If i need to do ant cross country traveling. I just rent.

I went through the entire thread trying to see why in the hell you filled it with water instead of antifreeze. You could've cracked your block, not to mention other issues that will eventually crop up using water.

Antifreeze is dirt cheap and lasts for like 5 years.... I'm so confused.

I have a 2029 ram 1500. I had a 2002 Ford F-150 with about 250,000 miles that decided to finally give up the ghost if not I’d probably still be driving it.

I’m looking for a beater that I can buy to drive so I can park my ram and just drive it every now and then

My dad has a 2005 ram 1500 with about 70,000 miles that he will pass to me one day and my mom has a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee with about 150,000 miles that will be passed to me also

My 1998 mustang is sitting in the field behind their house. It ran when I parked it but it needs work now

I had a 2008 Sierra that I intended to pass on to my son. Ended up trading it in on a 2020 Sierra last January. Still kicking myself in the arse.

Ive got an 08 sierra and its been the best truck I have owned.

I like it better than my prior truck (98 z71 ext cab), and I got 360,000 miles on her. Shes at the farm now. Still runs fine but the AC went out this past summer.

My FiL has a few older cars, but he has a 1995 Lexus SC300 that he let me borrow for a few days a year or so ago. I loved driving that little car. He has taken great care of it and it has less than 100k miles on it.

I'm in the process of spending the current value of my truck to get it in shape for another 250k. I love that truck as much as I hate car notes.

Yeah. That's perfect.

I picked up a 2005 Yukon a few weeks ago. It only has 60k miles, but was neglected, so I've got a few things to fix. I've got my eyes peeled for an older base model tacoma. People don't like to sell those.

I drive an '05 Civic as my daily driver and I have an '03 Ford Ranger if I need to haul or pick something up from Home Depot. Paid probably $5500 total for both of 'em and I've had them for 5+ years. The Civic is a manual so it's actually pretty fun to drive. Never needed anything but routine maintenance.

Paying a ton for a vehicle just does not make any sense to me at all.

Love these cars. Those Ford Panther platform vehicles from 2001-2011 are rock solid.

I see guys at work buying new trucks every couple years, have never not had a car note, and they laugh at me for driving a 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 Hemi. It has 137K miles, less than $1500 in repairs (not including routine maintenance).
The Ole Gray Mare just won’t die. I didn’t even buy her new, I got her in 2008 for $15K.

Almost exactly like mine but I have a Ford and now have about 145K on it. I put the white dragon through hell and she still ticks. I have had some electrical issues recently so I think she is crapping out. Runs pretty good though.

2001 Ram single cab v6. Almost 200k. Coldest A/C in the parking lot at work. She did get me a day off work recently when the ice was too thick to scrape off. I bypassed the heater core.
I made great money the last few years and my boss asked me the other day when I am upgrading. Plan to buy a fellow workers truck within a year. It’s a ten year old tundra with 80k miles. I’ll probably drive the old dodge still though because it’s a comfy ride and I don’t care if somebody backs into it.

Cool. You sound like my Dad who drove a 1994 Chevy Silverado up until just recently.
He thinks I’m a prestige seeking idiot for wanting to buy anything other than a used grocery getter.
Let people do what they want.
