We have the model with the various sounds. My wife uses it. She likes the rain forest. It also has a cool little feature with a lens that projects the time onto the ceiling. You wake up in the dark and can see the time just lying there .

No, back when I had trouble sleeping it would drive me insane. I look at that clock and see that it was 11:30 and think I need to get to sleep and then I’d toss and turn and see it was 12:15 and then toss and turn and some more.

Mine projects the time and temp on the ceiling above the bed. Just open my eyes a little and can see the time without moving anything other than opening my eyelids a little.

Mine doesn't do all the fancy stuff. It doesn't even have a battery for power outages nor keeps up with time changes. Yes I went super cheap with this one.

I have a cheap one bought from Amazon and love it. It has wireless charging and shows me the time.
I just got one of these to replace the traditional clock radio. Two phone charging stations, apple watch charger and USB ports for my Fitbit. It's great, and the low setting is not too bright.

Same. But I also had one that sped up over time too.

Watch? People still wear a watch to actually check the time? Then again I suppose a lot of people DON'T have an alarm clock because of the use of a smart phone for the same reasons. I do still use a clock/radio. I own watched but highly doubt they still have working batteries in them.

The best part is you just toss it. I think mine was only 15 bucks.

I went the other route. I have a 20 year old Bose Wave Radio on my night stand. I paid a damn fortune for that thing because it was such a great sound I have basically never listened to it more than 5 times in 20 years. Total waste of money

It was been a good alarm clock but that was not its intention. Just dollars thrown out the damn door

I have a clock in my kitchen that is always 1-2 minutes behind. Batteries are up to date but it will not stay on time. What's weird is it doesn't get worse over time. It just refuses to stay.

I guess is what more pathetic that I care so much about it or just accept the clock is perpetually wrong.

I have a Sony dream machine that was given to me by my mom when I graduated high school in 89. It wakes me up at the same times and has for the last 30 years along with two snooze button hits. I'm a creature of habit though. Those old Sony alarm clocks were built on a different level than most junk made today.

I wear an Apple watch. It doesn't just tell time. It shows me who is calling or texting me. It also is a fitness tracker. I can do pretty much what my phone can do without my phone on me.

Those are fine but if you want your watch to track sleep it is worthless. My phone lasts 24 hours or so of my normal usage so no need to charge overnight. AirPods as well.

That is because some clocks use the cycles in AC Power to count the time. So your power may actually be off a few hertz leading to a drift of a seconds per day until it gets completely off by minutes.

That is why computers use NTP sites to reset their clocks every so often.

Some clocks can tune to a shortwave station to adjust their clock maintained by the National Observatory. Also, GPS cellular signals are used to keep your phone on the right time and adjust for time zone changes and DST.
