I'm a plant IT nerd and have done many payroll reporting projects for managers over the years. I remember in 2001 we had lowly helper types making $1200 in 3 days working Thanksgiving holiday(Thurs, Fri, Sat) and getting double pay.
I was making 52k at the time and when I ran that final report and saw all them dumb fricks making twice my salary, I sat back in my chair and questioned my decision to get one of them fancy ISDS degrees.

At my previous job we all came in on Christmas Eve and the boss decided to let everyone go home around 11. The one guy who took the day off found out when we came back to work after Christmas and bitched to the boss and wanted his 8 hours of PTO back. Boss said “frick no.”
