Which lawyer?

ETA: I assume you’re referring to “the earring”

Yes, in Hazeur's court. Trial lasted most of the week.

He represented Pennzoil in a case against Texaco. He secured a, on paper, $10 billion judgment. His fee was $335 million. For 1 case.

A case now read in almost every first year contracts course.

Skip Lambert in New Orleans represented a relative in a Jones Act case. My relative was very pleased with the representation and the outcome.

I don't know Jim Boren - only by reputation.

Jim's good people and whip smart. I've never actually watched him try something, however, so I'm not in a position to vouch for his trial skills. With that said, I would be surprised to find out that he managed to trick everyone into thinking he's a badass all these years.

Look up Mark Tauzier. Last trial I saw him participate in was an absolute bloodbath in his favor

I sat on a jury where Unglesby was plaintiff’s attorney. His son (I think- memory is a little fuzzy ) was co-counsel. While this case didn’t require him to go full bore, I walked away saying if I ever needed an attorney to actually try a case he was my first choice. He is truly like watching a tv or movie lawyer work in the courtroom. He has a way of drawing you in. It ended up getting the plaintiffs a much larger award than they probably should have gotten. He was damn effective.

Don't know about lawyers but Herman Herman Katz and Domengeuax wright roy edwards received $87 million each in the Deepwater Horizon mess. Went to Big Lake to fish a while back and was told they had some lawyer named JP Jones who would make the New York Times 10 wealthiest lawyers in America yearly in the 80's. Gainsburg Benjamin is another good firm

Russ Herman is a great human being for a trial lawyer.

That's like not smelling so bad for a pile of shite.

That said, when I need to hire a lawyer, I'm not looking for the nice guy with great hair who's universally loved by the community. I'm looking for a good lawyer. If the best lawyer I can afford is an a-hole who smells of dead skunk, so be it.

Joe Jamail who is considered the best trial lawyer ever

Joe Jamail is not considered the best trial lawyer ever, at least not by anyone who is knowledgeable on the subject.

One of Joe Jamail’s friends owned a big chunck of Pennzoil. They were bankrupt and hired Joe to throw a Hail Mary (on contingency) which worked.

Maybe not the best, but certainly the richest. Gerry Spence comes to mind.

I prefer Dudley DeBosier. They’re the official injury lawyers of the LSU Fightin Tigers.

Maybe Not the best ever, but His money and fame indicate he’s in the conversation. I too recall sitting through a professionalism CLE discussing the Jamal deposition. The audience was told how unprofessional Jamail was and how acting this way didn’t make him a good lawyer etc etc. however, I don’t recall the CLE presenters name but I know about Jamail.
