Just like power companies go door to door installing new smart meters, they will go door to door installing smart thermostats that either are hard coded not to cool below 78 or heat above 65 or be 5g enabled so the power company / EPA can control it. It'll be linked to your power company account so if you take it offline they will cut your service.
