or shutting down New Orleans and buying out every property owner?

I would suggest the former is less expensive, but people in Wisconsin don't want to pay for that.

Ultimately, I fear one of the two will be necessary.

Anywhere but the northshore.

Houston could use some culture.

My point, I suppose, is they have nowhere to go. Over a million people live behind these levees. If the govt declared that it would no longer maintain or improve levees, the what option is there other than a federal buyout?

Houston enjoyed our folks last time. We can send some of them back there.

It would come to flooding out Morgan City and Houma before Nola. Without Nola this state is worse than Mississippi.

What do the most recent studies show about areas that will be underwater soon? Back in school they would tell us by 2030 or something that NOLA would be in the Gulf. That certainly doesn't look like it will happen.

We've already had a 1000 year storm so no need to worry about upgrading for at least another 900 years.

Um well, we’ll have like 900 something more years to prepare for the thousand year storm. So let’s do that, Stan.

Ummm...if it weren't for the levees it probably would be in the lake which is connected to the gulf. Right?

America doesn’t just abandon gigantic cities. San Francisco is the same deal - eventually we are likely to lose it. Do we want to just abandon San Francisco?

Wait. Actually, I think you May have a great point.
