Yeah, I don't consider KY southern as well. Any state that shares a border with Ohio and Illinois isn't truly Southern, geographically. IMO, the true South begins once you cross the TN state line

If grits are a part of local cuisine, then it’s Southern in my book.

When I think of "Southern" states, my perspective is historical rather than geographical. States that sided with South in Civil War are Southern. Virginia, Tennessee, Arkansas, on down to Gulf Coast. IMHO

Deep South states have a nascar following and a nascar track (Alabama, Georgia, north and South Carolina) not to mention, New Orleans is notably absent from the Bible Belt. Louisiana is in a class by itself. Not the Deep South at all. Plus, we have way more Catholics than any other state in the South.

If we’re allowing the segmentation of a state, Missouri’s bootheel is southern as frick. They grow cotton, have swampland, water tupelos, etc., and it is only 60 miles from Mississippi. Plus their southern accents are as thick as anything I’ve heard from a majority of the South.

Does that mean y'all would have more or about the same amount of priests indicted as PA?

Your username gives you to much credit.

You have no credibility and zero idea about the subject on which you're speaking.

Louisiana, Arkansas, Mississippi, Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, the northern counties of Florida, South Carolina.

Geographically but not culturally for the most part

The 'penis' of Florida, North Carolina

Share some cultural similarities but kind of a creature of its own
Kentucky, West Virginia, southern Missouri

Share some cultural similarities but is the Southwest geographically and partially culturally
Texas, Oklahoma

You could say that for any subject he ever tries to speak on.

I used to debate with him until I realized he isn't even old enough to drink.

Damn y’all are butthurt. East Texas is much closer to Alabama and Mississippi than the Cajuns in south Louisiana are. This is not really debatable.

I never knew people considered Kentucky midwestern until I started posting here, that just doesn't make any sense. I can understand the arguments for southern and Appalachia, but not midwestern.

FWIW, the vast majority of Kentuckians(including myself) consider ourselves southern.

Usually a sign of someone not knowing what they are talking about is when they say "it's not really debatable" when talking about an inherently subjective topic.

Get off the internet and go back to school.
