The Amazon has always seemed spookier.

I've always felt like if I stepped into the Amazon, a school of piranha would chomp me up instantly.

The Nile River has hippos and huge crocs. That's way scarier.

Eric Fleming, star of the TV western Rawhide (w/Clint Eastwood)

While filming a movie on location on the Huallaga river in South America, Fleming fell into the rapids and drowned. A few days later his body was found. It had been partially eaten by piranhas.

Meh, overblown. The “feeding frenzies” you hear about were mostly intentional after starving them for a period of time.

The Nile is in Africa, so that wins home field advantage. I’d rather be a six hour direct flight to US medicine if something happens. Give me the Amazon for piece of mind.

I'm going to have to go with the Nile. Much harsher environment overall, and with many of the most dangerous animals in the world...lions, hyenas, hippos, crocodiles, elephants, rhinos, leopards, cheetahs...screw all of that.
