Don't be surprised if we find out this guy ran out of gas.

That is not a crash. Textbook off airport emergency Landing. The pilot was even courteous enough to pull it off into the grass so he wouldn’t block traffic.

Wont matter... BR traffic will be fricked for 3 days now due to this. Tomorrow all these fools will be out rubbernecking a skid mark in the grass from the plane tire.

PA-28 series aircraft are great planes. Most of my time are in that type.

Well stall speed is 47 knots (54 mph) according to Wikipedia so with a little luck he might have been going about the speed of a car pulling off the road.

UPDATE: Before making emergency landing off I-10, pilot said small plane lost oil pressure, clipped a truck on the way down

This is the part that was most surprising to me:

“Officials say the truck left the scene.”

Who gets clipped by an airplane and drives off?

Probably realized they didn’t have airplane insurance.

Local aviation company recently installed engine oil “quick drain.” How quick? 3 minutes after gear extention no oil. Gear may have opened drain.

My bad. I accidentally farted while getting air head and the Kappa girl that was with me hit me in the balls. I lost sight of the runway at that point.

Because the plane is still there and will be until “at least tomorrow “ according to WAFB.

I fought traffic, got off at Highland and went to cross interstate at Bluff Road and almost piled into the Toyota Avalon that stopped on the overpass to take a fricking picture. This was at 11:00 am and she just waved at me when I laid on the horn.
