Turned 50 few months ago. Can retire in seven years, but I'm one of those that doesn't think want to stop working. But, I do the cattle thing on the side also, so can envision a day where I would like to fish more often.

I stopped going in the office mid 2019 when I was 59 and have weened myself away and let other employees take over. I am selling out and they are going to pay my health insurance for the next 4 years. Surprisingly, I seldom get bored and stay busy with some real estate, hunting camp, yard work, travel, golf and family activities.
As long as you have the money to retire there is no need to keep working unless you are really in love with your job.

I get put out to pasture Nov 2026, I'll be 54. I'd stick around longer if they'd let me, because I love the job.
I'll still do something beyond, just not sure yet. I've recently started working a side gig that's been fun and lucrative. Maybe it'll lead to something beyond retirement.

I am 45 and hope to go at 55. That will give me 31 years of service. Should be good to go as long as I’m still healthy.

My last day of work is Friday February 6, 2037, That is 15 years 1 month 19 days from now. Thats when ill be able to draw my 401K with no penalty and ill have way more than enough to enjoy life. My wife is 3 years younger than me, so ill get on her insurance at that time. My plan is to get some daily exercise and fish a lot.

I'm retiring in 2 weeks. Mainly health issues and due to the fact that a certain university in Louisiana gave their fire training operations to a state agency.

Less than 500 calendar days and less than 300 working days to go. Ready to move into third phase of life tomorrow.

Retired at 62... should have done it at 60. Life is good.
That seems early. What do you do with your time?

The last 30 days took the longest for me.

have plans to keep you busy and happy?
This -
We travel and I have good friends involved in the various hobbies I have.
The only downside for me is when I learn someone I know is sick.
But…life is a continuum.
