People driving 100 is fine. They are here and gone quickly. It doesn't bother me if they do it from the left lane, and give people an opportunity to get around and move into the right lane. It's the fast movers that try to zig zag around everybody who piss me off.

Its fine until someone in the right lane prepares to get over into the left lane to pass, looks in their sideview and doesn't see any cars coming, but as soon as they start to change lanes, a person driving 100 mph in the left lane suddenly appears out of nowhere from behind in left lane, and crashes into the car changing lanes, potentially killing both drivers.

Correct. After a certain point, horsepower can't push you any faster. You can only increase speed (and efficiency) by aerodynamic improvement.

15 over. It logarithmically increases injuries and fatalities the higher the speeds are.

I think it’s been proven factually that the slower driver causes more issues

The most dangerous driver is the OTer posting on his phone about anyone intruding on his personal left lane.

What about the IDIOTS who STOP before merging onto the interstate! The last 2 days I was behind them and right when I'm giving the gas THEY COME TO A COMPLETE STOP!

B. Easily. 15 miles under the limit is hazardous driving.

Wouldn't be having this conversation if it were a lot harder to get a license.

I say make the test way harder. Make it so hard that half the people fail the test. Retests every 3 years.

Driving portion must be perfect to show that you at least have the capacity to drive perfectly for 15 minutes, even if you won't.

Drive the speed limit within 7 miles either way.

If you're speeding 1-7, $1000 fine. If you go above 7 over, immediate suspended license and you have to have a trial to get reinstated.

Yes, I know my viewpoint is extreme. Dying by vehicle accident is also extreme, so I think it's warranted. I don't care, I'm fed up with the way people behave on the road. Mostly impulsive men in large trucks.

The quicker we have driverless vehicles the better.

Just as big of a pet peeve as people who get out of the left lane only to drive faster in the right lane once you are passing them. And the worst is people in the left lane who willingly let 18 wheelers over in front of them or leave space to do so. Good way to get "zig zagged" first change I get.

Bonus pet peeve: Why the frick do some people STOP when making a turn? You can't turn at 0mph and its actually harder to turn the slower your speed is.

People are dumb.

I take it you also believe the same penalties should be assessed for going 1-7 and 7+ under the speed limit too, yes?

Removing all risks from society creates a broken society. Nothing against driverless cars, but some people like speed and control, always will.

Edit - I misread your post.

Yes, 7+ under should face similar fines.

1-7 under should be no fines. If a speed limit is 35, ideally people are traveling between 28-35 mph.

This also creates the need to massively overhaul the limits.

Then shouldn’t 1-7 over hold no fines too?

It is impossible to stay in the right lane for an extended period of time. If you move left to get around some drag arse some frickhead will tailgate you. Driving the “correct” speed is never possible
