Babies don’t end up needing as much as you think. That said, there are some products I swear by. If you need specific recommendations, feel free to post them.

I guess there is none so thought I’d post here. I’ll be a new dad in a couple weeks. Wife hates me right now because being pregnant is shitty. There’s so much stuff a baby needs it’s quite overwhelming.

Any advice for a first time father?

You came to the right place, buddy.

Babies are stupid needy little frickers.
Best advice I can give:

1. Learn to swaddle that little fricker so snug they can't lift their arms(they actually like that b/c it reminds them of womb).

2. Toss out every button-up onesie. Replace them with easy zip-up onesies. Trust me.

The start is hard, for sure. But savor it, it will be gone too soon and you’ll want it back

Okay I am slightly OCD but actually the tedium of the snap onesies calmed me down and gave me a mindless-task sort of zen. Sort of like the popping bubble wrap feeling?

I’m sure this will change when numero dos shows up and I don’t have time to be snappin’ with a toddler keeping me on my toes

It got swamped with Jaxynn and Braxtynns batting gloves and cleats

Just be willing and available and get ready to spend a lot on formula. Once your kid switches to milk it’ll be like getting a raise. Well wishes and best of luck.

Ain’t that the truth. Once they can wipe their own arse, it’s some great years.

Then the tweens hit and they get attitude

Then the teens…*shudder*

I tell ya, if they were born as teenagers we’d throw them off cliffs

You ever tried to snap up a onesie while that little fricker was kicking and screaming?

The infant stage was my favorite. My child was the easiest baby in the world. We were paid back for that when he was 2-3. But now that he is 4 he's fun as shite. He's pretty funny actually.

He still doesn't listen worth a shite and is a moody mother fricker, but I guess that proves he is my child.

To the OP, please just give your wife some grace. Being pregnant is really weird for some women, things are going on that you can't explain and sometimes it's hard just not feeling like yourself.

My advice is take help when it's offered, hold the baby as much as you want and last don't listen to other people's BS they are going to spew at. Your wife and you will know what's best for your child.

Pretty sure. She makes significantly more than I do so she doesn’t gain anything from keeping it from me

Enjoy just having one. As more come you won't ever have that focus time with the baby again. Our 4th is almost 7, and we just roll our eyes at the parents who stress out with one. Come on, it's 2 on 1, easy. Take time to just hold them, nothing is sweeter than a tiny thing sleeping on your chest or while you hold them on just a forearm. Lastly, don't hole up at home just because you have a baby. Take them everywhere once you figure out how to silence them and their good and bad times of the day. They'll be more resilient and less sensitive for it and you'll learn not to stress about having them with you all the time
