Watched the second plane hit from my 5th grade classroom while making my lunch choice. Dad was evacuated to a backup center for his work from downtown Houston and mom picked us up shortly after. Watched the towers fall from our living room.

Working out at Elmwood in One She’ll Square. Saw the first plane hit. Rushed back to my apartment and called my sister who lived in the upper west side in Manhattan. Told her what was happening. My brother in law worked close to the towers and we didn’t hear from him until later that day. He had just come out of the subway when the shite was hitting the fan. Those were some of the longest hours of my life waiting to hear from him.

9th grade Spanish class. When first hour was dismissed, the halls were completely silent as everyone slowly walked to their next class.

Ironing a shirt, getting ready for Econ at 9:10, then headed to work at the law firm (I was a runner) Bob & Tom was on the radio in my room and I remember coming in and hearing that they weren’t laughing. I called my dad, who told me what was going on, then I went to class. Econ professor didn’t take it seriously when people were asking questions about what this was going to do to the economy. I watched footage in the student Union until Common Hour ended. Ironically, they were having a blood drive that day. I went to work, but it was mostly pointless because all the courts were closed. We had the TV on in the copy room, on the 18th floor of the tallest building in Shreveport. Dad, who worked on the 14th floor, later told me he saw Air Force One leaving Barksdale. The President’s address from Barksdale aired about 30 minutes later.

Silver Side Up by Nickelback was released on 9/11/01.
As if that day couldn't get any worse.

junior year science class
principal came on the PA system and announced what happened towards the end of the 1st period
I didn't have a class 2nd period so I went by the JROTC office and was relaying the information to those classes

On the streetcar.
Tried to take cash out of the ATM when I got uptown and it was nonresponsive.
Heard on the radio that all airports were closed. Sounded weird because I didn't know why.
Got to work and found out what happened.
