High school. I spent much of that year filling out college applications and hoping to get into my first choice of school.

Junior year of highschool, cruising in my Olds Delta 88, enjoying cheap concerts, watching some classic movies and chasing girls.

I was 12 and just moved to Lafayette from Baton Rouge. Saints were horrible, LSU was mediocre, Daddy Dale was HC, and LSU Baseball didn't really exist yet but we hired some guy named Skip Bertman.

11 years old. All 4 grandparents alive and in Louisiana. Dad and ALL my uncles were in oil and gas and 1986 hadn’t happened yet. Life was good.
Acadiana Mall was childhood sensory overload. Run around the mall all day. Go to grandparents or aunts house and watch NightTracks or MTV (if we had it yet) all night long. Or until we fell asleep scattered around the living room like college kids at a house party.

I was in the 6th grade, in Lafayette. NP Moss Middle School. "Purple Rain" was the movie. I bought some pretty cool shite from the Carencro Flea Market. Ninja stars, switch blades breakdancing, etc...... Cool times indeed. The arcade at Northgate Mall was lit...

Would start at the Worlds Fair then a combination of Parlays, GoldMine, Southsides or 4141.... aka Lakeview, Quarter, Fat City or Uptown running the streets to 7AM every single weekend.
What a time to be alive.

World’s Fair, getting sunburned by the pool at the club, riding my bike on the lakefront, smoking that stuff, and then to LSU.
