Not sure about that. It's just that out of shape guys try to wear suits designed for in shape guys. The cut and drape and everything else can be tailored to make it look good on a portly fellow. They just have to accept that they may have to have a suit that looks like it was worn by Winston Churchill instead of Ryan Gossling.

That would be George Zimmerman.

In the 80's, Chess King had a reversible, washable suit.

Getting a REAL nice tailored suit is one of those things that you get what you pay for, unless you just know a tailor personally. It's not like they are working in bulk, so they charge a hefty price for the time and effort it takes to do it.

If you don't want to pay good money, maybe you don't really need that high end suit.

Curious: Why do you think you need a "beautifully tailored suit"? What will you use it for? Especially if you are truly OT poor.

George Bass on Corporate (next to Martinez).

They’re known for Isaia and Kiton (mucho dinero), but they also carry Samuelsohn, which is one of the best affordable made-to-measure suits you can buy.

I just need a nice new well-fitted casual navy suit for social events. By "beautifully tailored" I mean properly tailored and the current style. I already have 4-5 older wedding/funeral type suits. The indochino option would probably suffice. In the past I've used several local options from the rack to Mclavy and Perlis. I just wanted feedback from guys who have educated opinions, since my frame of reference is probably 15 years ago .I think I have that now.

Got one for about 1,300 in 20’
Not sure if that’s a crazy price or for poor, but I like it ????

A cheap well tailored suit will look better than a very expensive suit that doesn't fit well

I agree.

But there is a limit to "cheap"

You can also do Indochino. Do they have a store in Baton Rouge? I have some everyday suits from there that I get tons of compliments on that were very affordable. They don't hold up as well over time, but they look expensive.

They are completely custom tailored overseas after getting measured at a store, then shipped to your door.

A manager at another location of a company I was at would fly overseas to get all his suits and shirts made, everything looked nice, but it was a little over the top with his initials on some things. Said it was cheaper, better and FASTER than getting them made in the states and he got to go to Thailand a couple three times a year for "Free" to him. I got buy with keeping a coat in the office and wearing suits the 3-4 times a year they were needed, but he wore one EVERYDAY.
