Went to Perlis once and before asking about the fit the douchenozzle sales guy told me I was “born” to wear that suit.
I’ve always wanted to get fitted by a tailor, though mostly I do the sport coat thing.

Just make sure it fits. Macy's and JC Penney have some cheap ones that can actually fit well. Get a charcoal one instead of black in case you need to wear it elsewhere - it's way more versatile than black.

Buy it anywhere. Doesn’t matter. What matters is what tailor you bring it to after to get fitted. I good tailor will make a cheap suit look great.

Jos A Bank. Walked in got fitted. Came back next day left with a suit. $260.

You most definitely can tell when a suit is cheap even when tailored well. It’s the type of fabric, the shoulders, etc. Makes a huge difference.
