One of the best shrimp poboys I ever had was at a place called Tommy Jacks in Laramie, Wyoming. It was owned by a guy from Lafayette I believe.

you are going to have to explain how it was any better than a poboy from a state with easy access to fresh poboy bread and fresh shrimp

Not a cajun restaurant, but I ate a place in Ixtapa Mexico that had a "New Orleans" dish...

Sounds "interesting"...

Here's a sampling of their reviews:

One guy said "there's nothing like a stripper crying during a lap dance".

I was recently at a festival in Wake Forest,NC where a couple of guys were giving out samples from their new restaurant "The Lost Cajun". I asked him what part of Louisiana he was from. He said New Jersey. I just walked away.

I ate at one in Anchorage Alaska in 2002.

The rice in the jambalaya was white.

That should tell you something right there.

And I think the chef was from Lafayette. Not surprising....

Used to be one between Palmer and Wasilla, Alaska on Bogard Rd. It was a glorified food truck but the food was very good. New Orleans natives owned it.

I ate at one in Owosso, MI out of curiosity. It was run by some Louisiana transplants and was surprisingly decent.

Not necessarily a cajun restaurant but cajun item on menu is more common then you think. Ive traveled the world and have seen cajun "item" on menu. Had a friend in Brazil post something the other day about this.

As said earlier, Bergen, Norway is easily the craziest for me.

It's very very centrally located and right by their UNESCO world heritage Bryggen.

I was strolling through the fish market, tourists everywhere, and you look up and see this massive crawfish on the side of a building that's bigger than all the others and it it says in huge letters "Louisiana Creole"...It literally sticks out like a sore thumb, almost impossible for anyone in the area to miss it

There is one in Long Beach, CA. I highly recommend if you like bland unseasoned food.
