our 4th coldest April

Where are you talking about exactly, because it wasn't a top 10 coldest April for Baton Rouge. It was 2.1 degrees below normal though.

08-09 and 09-10 winters were also extremely cold

09-10 was the second coldest winter on record for BTR.

Looking at the climate data seasonally, there's no recent spikes in hot/cold winters here. There is a notable spike in Spring, Summer, and Fall heat but there's also quite a few from the 20s and early 30s popping up for summer and fall as well. Not trying to debate here, just noting the sort of interesting climate data available.

I personally think man has an impact on the current rate of warming...but yes he was overstating the impacts temperature wise. We're talking, let's say +7 F on average and it won't be that drastic this close to the water.

Considering the average summer of about 73 degrees, you'd be talking about bumping that to 80. Which would be indicative of higher dew points to match, since our summer low is basically the dew point. That rise in dew point would likely serve to increase summer rainfall. For south Louisiana, it'll be the water and not as much the heat that is of concern if you ask me.

After that aside that few will read (don't blame em), the computer models are keeping a cold front from run to run for around the weekend of the Georgia game.

GFS:

Cold air coming in over Sunday the 14th.

Canadian:

Thursday the 11th for the Canadian.

Euro:

No cold front by the end of the run going into Saturday the 12th, but that low over the great lakes is deeper than the GFS and farther south for the same timeframe. Cold front there positioned across OKC area into western TX. You'd think that would get here over that weekend.

So...

After the Georgia game looks to be the answer, but too far out to bank on.

Seems to have reached Cinque Terre, Italy. Nice breeze and about 64 degrees on the balcony.

Global warming is real. Stop watching the low IQ's on Fox news and listen to the scientists.

I promise to do this if you promise to listen to the scientists when they say there are only two genders that are assigned at birth

LINK

LA temps in April were 3rd coldest nightime temps and 9th coldest daytime. 5th coldest avg

The whole middle of the country was in the top 3 for coldest in those states.

Have you considered moving?

Of course. Just waiting for the wife to retire from work and I'm out of here. I've been retired a few years now and the wife has about 5-6 years left.

Sell the house, move rural somewhere and pay a hell of a lot less for a house with some land and bank the rest.

I have a feeling that even though our winter will be short it will be very cold. Much like last year. C’mon November!
