I’ll be dealing with a lot of international professional types so that’s my only guess as to why it’s so formal. I’ll miss my days of chinos, polos, and sperrys.

Get a custom tailored suit you fricking poor.
I’ll never understand why people wear clothes that aren’t tailor made to fit them.

I worked for a software company for about a decade. If we weren't meeting with clients the only dress code was no shorts or flip flops. Jeans and a tshirt every day was awesome. I'd gladly go back to that.

Perlis has a suit they sell for 450 all year long and it doesn't go on sale. Great cut, fabric. Good suit, it's my go to work suit when I have to go to a construction site, meeting, and social event in one day. This is not the marketing pitch suit, it's a daily work suit. Ask for Mr. Gentry.

Ask for Mr. Gentry.
Asking for “Mr. Gentry” at Perlis is their in-store code for “this customer is an asshat a-hole”.
Ask for “Mr. du Bois Blanc”.
That’s who Owlie is familiar with.
And Mr. du Bois Noir

Most of my suits are from Joseph A Bank, just like everyone else in this thread.

I still go to Bannister Mall to buy my leather suits. They are the only ones that look good with my Kangol hats. Lots of great colors for church also.

Figure out your measurements and go online for Spier and Mackay. Amazing suits for <$400 usually. Will need to hem the pants to desired length.
If you really can't time crunch online do J Crew, Banana, Macy's or Nordstrom Rack. You can find a well-fitting suit at Macy's for about $200 but don't expect it to last amazingly long. Fit above all else.

I bought one at Nordstrom Rack a few months ago for about $350
Best place to go. Then find you a tailor to get it fitted right.
You can find some really good looking suits there.
