I parked at Magazine and State and walked to hamburger and seafood last night.

For Endymion, we stand on Carrollton near the Rouses. Lots of places to get food and drinks, and you can use the Rouses bathrooms. You can try to find free spots on side streets or people who will let you park in their yard for $20. Coming from Metairie take City Park/Met Rd exit then just take Canal and try side streets till you find something.

I try to find a spot on the street on the outside of the parade route. In other words, if the parade route makes an L shape I don't want to be inside the L where I have to cross the parade route to get back to the interstate. (Think tons of beads and glass bottles).. If on a one way street make sure it's in the direction you want to be going. Take into account other one way streets you might have to take as well. Nothing is more frustrating than having cops directing traffic and forcing you away from your destination.

For all the parades that go up St. Charles the absolutely easiest way to see the parades is to come off the interstate and park in one of the parking garages and walk to the intersection of Poydras and St. Charles. You can drive right in and park and be at the parade in a few minutes. When it's over you can get out just as fast.

I work in the CBD so I have a parking garage but I want to say parking was around 8 dollars for everyone else.

Get to downtown via Esplanade and park in the old Jax brewery lots on Decatur. Surprisingly, there are usually openings 2 or 3 blocks from Canal.

But then you have to watch the parade there. UPT is where it's at.

Sidenote, I heard rumors of shots fired at Muses last night by Lee Circle. Anyone hear anything like that?

If you want to catch the parade uptown then park around Tulane and walk.

For Bacchus, if you go early come from direction of Jefferson and take River Rd/Leake Ave to Magazine and just try to get as close to Napoleon as you can. Park on one of the side streets. Or park on a side street further towards the end of St Charles Ave instead and then catch the St Charles streetcar down closer to Napoleon.

Wait until a half hour after the parade starts to park. By that time all the tow trucks will be done sneaking off with their payloads and you can park anywhere.

Are the streets still torn up around Uptown? The last time I went to a parade was for Thoth about three years ago. Ended up parking around Danneel Park to get to Henry's. Getting to that parking spot and getting out was bad.

Touro Prytania Garage....you can thank me later. Not once have I had an issue parking there. There's also a couple of bars on Aline St. that have restrooms. It's our go-to spot. Vehicle is safe in there, too.

Touro

Do you know anyone in the area? Parking at a friend's house and getting an uber, or walking, is usually your best bet. You shouldn't be driving for a while anyway.

I had a friend ride in Muses and was at the after party. She said someone was shot at St. Charles and Calliope. Past that I don't have any info.

You can't pick a worse place to watch a parade on St. Charles.

You are pretty safe staying anywhere above Jackson Avenue for the parades. I recommend the number streets ( 3-7th) around Washington Avenue....or this weekend a lot of them start near Jefferson and Magazine so I would head on over to Magazine and Napoleon area . For Thoth on Sunday anywhere along Magazine around Jefferson

You really don't have to worry about the trash in those places
