For Thoth on Sunday anywhere along Magazine around Jefferson
If some newbie is looking to pick one parade to get the most enjoyment with the least hassle, I always suggest Thoth. Parking that morning never seems bad, especially on the upriver side of Henry Clay.
Since that is not the part of the Route that Bacchus rolls on, it is not as crowded on Magazine.
I ride most years, but when sitting out we have some good times with other families in this area.

Park in the middle of St. Charles Ave. The city will gladly park your car for you.

Your biggest problem on Sunday morning is getting to the area because Thoth's route is so long.
If you are coming from Metairie, I wouldn't take the River Road route that leads into Audubon Park because you will start moving into parade traffic and I think they block off Magazine right at the Park now
One option is to come up through downtown getting off at Tchoupitoulas right before the bridge and working your way up river......or .......get off at Carrollton and go down Carrollton to St. Charles and then start looking for parking starting around the Henry Clay/ Calhoun and State Street areas on the River side of St. Charles.
For Saturday......you can get some decent parking anywhere between St. Charles and the River and after Thoth you can get out by heading down Tchoupitoulas to the Expressway or down River Road or S Claiborne as it turs into Jefferson Hwy.....do not go past Washington on Carrollton as you will find yourself getting stuck in Endymion's traffic which is a nightmare
I tend to stay away from Endymion since periodically I ride in Thoth....not wearing myself out
