Not long. There was a bit of shock when that dam umbrella collapsed upwards and didn't act like the parachute I planned.

I did it several times as a kid. I actually made a parachute out of a sheet and some rope. The concept was sound but the ropes were longer than the height of the house ! After I got my wind back, I gave up the idea. Ah, the innocence/stupidity of youth.

Jumping off was easy. Clearing the fence at the property line was the hard part

It would have taken me a while, but I tripped.

Not long at all. First time I did it I was probably 12 years old. Hence the nickname "Stuntman".

I've done some really dumb shite over the years.

Took me a bit longer to work up the courage to jump off a bridge a few times.

Not long. We jumped off the roof daily. I understand why my hips and knees are pissed off at me. We used to jump off with umbrellas or bedsheets. That didn't work, so we put a pile of pinestraw below our jumping off spot.

I had a playhouse that my grandfather built for my handicap sister. I would limb the clothes line pole and sit on that roof and watch the clouds. Never jumped it because I’m a girl and wasn’t stupid like a teenage boy. Those were good times.

Kevin Mcallister

But to answer question not long. Took me days to jump out of tree that was about the size of roof when I was 6 or 7. The roof was then essentially the same thing.

Tried it once. Once my feet left I realized how high up I was, and knew it was a bad decision. Pain was worse than I thought, but I wasn’t injured at least.

I used to climb up on the roof all the time. 1 story home and there was a bush on the side of the house I could climb up. Jumped down every time. Never tried to cut a flip off that sucker though

Our attached carport had a flat roof, basketball would get stuck up there several times a day

Around 9 or 10, and sat on my butt and pushed off feet first. No damage. Went right back and did it again, but not before double dog daring my friends with taunts of “Pussy!” to make them do it before my second attempt. Which I never got to ‘cause we had to call a couple ambulances.

Can’t say that this ever crossed my mind and I still don’t plan to jump off a damn roof.
