Not sure if this was directed at me, or you meant the universal "you", but I would almost never try to argue anyone out of faith. I'm a utilitarian, whatever brings the most happiness to the most people is the best course of action.
If your faith brings you happiness, then great. When it doesn't, I'd argue against it.
But what I would always argue against telling a grieving person that their faith is bullshite. Seems impractical in every level.

Unless you have proof there is no God your words means nothing. The fact is you have no idea if their prayers are just nice gestures or actually words being heard by a higher power. We will all find out one day though and that's all anyone knows.
