I'm mainly talking about people who live out of state or are on vacation and see someone with LSU gear on. Do you say something like Geaux Tigers or make a comment about LSU? Do you say nothing and go on about your way? I usually don't say anything when I see people wearing LU stuff in Houston but that is just me.
On vacation, I'll always say geaux Tigers!

2011 SEC champion shirts. In truth I see many SEC fans here. I've seen Auburn, Alabama, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Texas A&M, and LSU attire.
Yesterday I was looking at a golf course I want play soon and something like the top 5 scorecards were for someone using the name geauxsaints.

Yes
Usually "Geaux!", looking for "Tigahs" response.
Only while out of state, of course.
Will also make fun of Gumps, Barners and Clanga

I will at least give them a head nod if I'm out of state. I had someone give me a "Geaux Tigers" when I was wearing an LSU shirt in Italy..

I had an LSU shirt on at Downtown Disney in California a few weeks ago, and this dude stops me, shakes my hand and starts telling me about when he graduated and stuff. So awkward, I hate that.

I always acknowledge hot women wearing LSU gear. 9 times out of 10 this ultimately results in us having sex or at least an over the pants HJ.

I normally will nod or say something when out of state BUT I checked into a hotel in Houston yesterday about 6:30 and there was a grown arse man (late 20's) was in the lobby in a LSU t-shirt and LSU pajama pants. WTF people?!?! Pajamas are not clothes and certainly not early evening hotel lobby attire. Especially when they have my school logo all over them. Unfrick yourself.

I wonder if we've said Geaux Tigers to each other

I've lived in Houston about 2.5 years or so now and i can't count how many times someone has said "Geaux Tigers" or something like that to me when wearing purple and gold. I've said it also several times.

I usually give a somewhat subtle Geaux Tigers to any LSU clad persons I come in close proximity to when traveling. It has spawned many a good conversation while killing time in various airports. Just a couple weeks ago it lead to beers and shots with a yat couple in the Grindhouse burger place in Concourse D of the Atl airport.

I usually wear an LSU hat so especially when traveling I get a lot of "Geaux Tigers" at airports. Sometimes I get caught off guard and it takes a few seconds to realize what was said. I have run into some gumps in IAH who started trash talking as we were boarding at 7am. I was barely awake, all I could do was

I was in Disney after the 07 ship and there was this thing every time eye contact was made with a tiger fan nothing was said just pointed one finger up and nodded. They did the same.

Did it Saturday in NJ. Guy's brother owns a pizza place in Baton Rouge.

With the setting being appropriate, as an old timer, I just say "Frick Tulane" as I walk by, and that usually gets the ball rolling with those who want to talk LSU.

Being out in the western US, my kids will always point out someone wearing LSU attire. They will go over and say GEAUX Tigers.
On vacation last week we ran into several at Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons. I was wearing an LSU shirt in Zion and some 10 year old kid yelled "War Eagle" at me.
It is a good ice breaker to meet people.

If I'm in an airport somewhere far from LA (not, say, Houston per OP's example) or see someone randomly while on vacation abroad I like to give a brief "Geaux Tigers" which usually elicits the same in return. That's about the extent of it. I don't want to talk to some random a-hole about Jennings v. Harris.

If I am more than 500 miles from Baton Rouge I will.
Though I also find that wearing LSU gear attracts more Gumps wanting to talk to me than LSU fans.
