Well cops are on the lowest and dumbest rung of public servants and if you're in the infantry or load ordinance, then you're borderline retarded.

What was the question again?

People get careless in their own neighborhoods, they're so used to being there.

Has to factor in on why lots of accidents occur near their own houses.

definitely troops---especially deployed troops. They don't get to go home at the end of a shift and enjoy time with a wife, kids, nice home, dinner out with friends, and all the other luxuries that come with working a shift and then going home. They are gone months at a time, sometimes in austere conditions, and in harm's way 24 hrs a day, 7 days a week.

One can support having law enforcement while recognizing the overall law enforcement body we have in this country is a largely corrupt, self-serving, power abusing body that wastes a lot of tax payer money and resources.

Our "freedom" has really only been challenged by a foreign country one time in our modern history - Japan prior to WW2. Our military has largely been used for imperialistic endeavors over the last 100 years.

That's not a disrespect to the troops fighting those battles. And there's certainly an argument that the might of the US military has prevented a lot of attacks, but none of our current or recent troops have given us any "freedom."

Do you think these military folks just sit in Korea, Japan, Africa, Europe, southwest Asia and South America for the frick of it? Shots don't have to be fired to secure our nation and way of life.

Yeah, that part was implied in the second sentence of what you quoted.
