I Back the Blue who Support our Troops!

ECSO Medal of Valor Ceremony

On the morning of December 6, 2019, a terrorist attack occurred at Naval Air Station Pensacola. The terrorist, an aviation student from Saudi Arabia, killed three people, injured eight others including two sheriff deputies, and carried enough ammo to kill scores more.

When the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office was alerted, Sgt. Mike Hoyland, a die-hard LSU fan, acted quickly. Sgt. Hoyland led Deputy Matthew Housam and Deputy Matthew Keebler into the front of the API/IFS Building on NAS Pensacola. They did not know how many terrorists were located inside, where they were located, or how they were armed. The three men knew only that there was at least one active shooter inside, and more people would die if they did not act quickly. The three men immediately went inside. Sgt. Hoyland spotted the terrorist, was fired upon, and returned fire terminating the terrorist. Deputies Housam and Keebler joined in terminating the terrorist.

Sgt. Mike Hoyland (right) is a die-hard Tiger fan and a BAMF.
Proud of this LSU fan for risking his life to save the lives of others.

Sheriff Morgan awarded the Medal of Valor to the five deputies, one sergeant and two NAS Pensacola Captains. The Medal of Valor is the highest honor for bravery a public safety officer can receive.
"These men went above and beyond the call of duty."

I'm a US Marshal so I empathize with law enforcement officers most of the time, but I absolutely respect a soldier on the front lines more.

I've seen some worthless LEOs that shouldn't be working the counter at McDonald's let alone carrying a badge and gun, and there's enough downright dumb ones to concern me a lot.

The majority are great people that risk their lives daily and should be paid more, but a few bad apples ruin the bunch. Some soldiers aren't the brightest either and some will never see combat or be deployed, I put them on the same level as a mediocre LEO.

A lot of them are pretty hard to respect.

It’s just too hard to support the American military with all the black eyes..

If you call those black eyes I hope you never have to see what the enemies the military fight do to people they capture

I don’t like the term “Troops” because it lumps fat worthless Air Force and navy people in with marine infantry

When our teams are pulling that marine off the battlefield and moving them to a level of care to get a chance to live, they don’t seem to mind us

The frick does that even mean? It’s dudes killing one another. I could not care less if we do it honorably, and frankly don’t care about your opinion on it either.

I’ve worked along side some really good cops. I’ve had 2 under my care that were shot. Many times cops have helped my arse in bad situations whether on ambulance, wreck, or fire ground. I’ve known some bad ones, every place of employment has bad people.

One can support having law enforcement while recognizing the overall law enforcement body we have in this country is a largely corrupt, self-serving, power abusing body that wastes a lot of tax payer money and resources
