While in Vegas last week, I was walking down the hall just as a maid was opening a door to a room. All I heard her say was, "Jesus, what the Hell?!" As I walk by, I look in and it looks like a bomb went off. The room was completely trashed.

When we checked out, all the trash was in a plastic bag near the door, all dirty towels were in the tub, the sheets were folded on the beds (made sure nothing was left caught up in the sheets, and the fridge was empty. We didn't use the coffee maker.

Yes, hate any messy room plus it cuts down on leaving things behind!

I brought a blacklight one time to make sure I cleaned all my spooge shots, but it took so long that I had to buy another night.

...Wait, it just occurred to me, maybe those weren't all mine?

Honestly, if I’m staying by myself, I always rub one out all over the bed before leaving

I always try to leave my hotel room a little better than I found it.

I’m not making the bed or anything but I’ll pick up trash and stuff like that.

If I’m in a hurry and don’t have time then I’ll leave a tip on the counter

I always leave it however. Growing up, my dad always made us completely clean the room before we left. That always annoyed the shite out of me.

Well, one of two things is true....
Either everyone on this forum is considerate and/or a neat freak

Or

The filthy ones won't admit they are filthy...

Kudos to those who leave a little tip for the cleaning staff..must make their day!!!

Yes

So the maid doesn't have to deal with a huge mess

No

I don’t like living in filth. I pick up after myself.

Usually.

We at least pile trash up in and around the trash can. Just don’t make a mess in the first place.

Worst I ever did:

Woke up in the middle of the night puking (yes, from drinking)while running to the toilet. Puked a line of vomit all the way from the bed to the toilet. Made a huge mess around the toilet.

Used sheets and comforter from other bed to sop everything up and left it in a pile in the corner of the room.

Felt bad.

I do this too and the wait staff is usually so appreciative that I stacked the plates for them. Not a big deal for me as it also creates more table space but I’m assuming most people do not.

I clean up the trash and take the hotel soap.

If it is an AirBnB House or a State Park Cabin, I mop and do dishes as well. I also leave my condiments in the fridge for the next person.

I mean I'm not throwing piss and shite all over the room but I'm not doing the maid's fricking job for her.

I consider myself a man of the world but I’ve never encountered “plates and trash” at anytime during those experiences.

I am mildly curious but not.

I’ve done plenty on tables with women so I follow you there.

I make sure it is clear I used things. If I used a hand towel just to dry my hands I put the towel on the floor of the bathroom and I never leave the bed made.

I want the maid to clean the room in hopes they cleaned it thoroughly before I checked in.
