I have been around other SEC schools and their bars and nightlife is better then that area of a dump. I know the other side has the Varsity and Chimes but I always expected LSU to have better then this. They should knock down everything in that area and rebuild it brand new and have a nicer place for the students to go enjoy themselves.

we got a new sign, bro. that pic you have is old.

Also, Fred's announced a multi-million dollar expansion and renovation.

Lsu should buy all of the apartments and bulldoze them. Leave the bars and Tiger Plaza (if it's still decent). That's prime real estate going to waste.

It’s a pretty good representation of the type of behavior that goes on there. Why build something new for people to trash when they have no problem partying in something that’s trashy?

Seeing the bar scene in Athens or the Square in Oxford makes me pissed that all we ever got were these shitholes

While I agree, it will only change once the students stop going to the area in its current state. Why would those owners invest money for complete renovations when they remain profitable currently?

They need to bulldoze all the section 8 apartments in Tigerland first.

Fred’s is spending like $2M to build a second story and add a new bar up there

Hell, even lowly Mississippi State has a damn nice, safe area to hang out...

I did not know that! I have been to Tuscaloosa and Gainesville and they had a nice setup for their students.

Tigerland, both the tacky, run down bars and the ghetto neighborhood behind it is an absolute embarrassment.

Would make soooo much more sense for people to party in the Chimes area, right by campus, which actually has some semblance of character..but the bars there never seem to be able to stay open except for chimes and the varsity

Can you imagine the herpes and STD contaminant particles that would be in the air if they bulldoze these landmarks?

And yes, I was always disappointed this was LSU’s bar scene right off campus.

It wasn't as nice but the grocery store parking lot with Murphys and Ingas was awesome back in the day. Parking around there sucks now.

Place is embarrassing. Needs to be burned down and the bars should be moved to the North Gate area. Wish I had the money to do it

One of the GOAT college bars.

The Bengal was pretty awesome too. We used to go there in drink in HS back when nobody really cared about that kind of thing.
