Went from 129 to 135 to now 140 in the nation.

Guy is a loser. Time to replace.

, I'm no fan of F King, but 11 spots on some arbitrary ranking list is irrelevant when you're already 129th.

129th is the earliest I remember, from 2015 I think. It could have been better before.

You might think it's arbitrary, but USNWR rankings are what legit schools actually work about.

LSU academics are a joke of course compared to the flagship. But even worse, lowest in the SEC now?

Same.

And I felt like it was building momentum in establishing its name as a decent university.

Does a Tier 3 or 4 school care about it?

It's not like LSU fell from 10 to 21.

Our brilliant BOS just gave him an extension on his contract and a raise.

Highest I remember LSU being was around 50 a few decades ago. The exodus of top flight international academic professors started when LSU fired Ivor van Heerden. When he was wrongly fired by LSU it sent a message to every professor worth a damn that they can't speak publicly on topics so many left for other universities across the globe.

Then F. King's idiotic statement that LSU will have to get rid of football created a panic with others who feared their jobs were in jeopardy. LSU doesn't have a lot of top tier academic talent left compared to other schools of its size. It is really sad because as they left so did the research dollars they took with them.

14 Vanderbilt - no surprise
35 Florida - still the best public school in the conference
46 Georgia - moved up, still chasing Florida though
66 Texas A&M - still lags behind big brother, will claim to be best in state anyways
...
...
...
[big gap]
...
...
...
106 South Carolina - best of the rest
115 Auburn - brags about being marginally better than Alabama
115 Tennessee - would brag about being marginally better than Alabama if anybody listened to them
129 Alabama - just became R1, will move up in future
129 Missouri - really thought they were higher
140 LSU - OK this is bad
147 Kentucky - But it could be worse
152 Arkansas - Like I said, it could be worse
152 Ole Miss - See?
...
[Small gap]
...
177 Miss State - Degree less valuable than my toilet paper

Apparently 15 spots is a deal breaker.

, LSU was a top 50 school in general in the past half century or more.

LSU is fine for what it is, but you guys are way, way overselling it. LSU was Tier 3 in 2001 USNWR rankings, indicating no better than 116th.
