My 2014 Dodge does not have one. Bluetooth, USB, Aux jack and Sat Radio. Was kind of shocked when I realized it didn't have one but have not thought about it once. Bluetooth from phone covers everything I listen to in my vehicle.

Found my old CD case from high school filled with burnt CDs. Jammed nothing but old Lil Wayne and Boosie songs for a week
Forgot how good No Ceilings was.

I drove my car for a year and a half thinking it was phased out and didn't have one before I discovered that it does and the only reason I even noticed is that I realized there is an eject button on the console. The CD slot is unobtrusive and is designed to just not be noticed. So, I'd say at least a year and a half ago.

Exactly. Spotify, Amazon Music, Google Music, Apple Music, Pandora, etc. etc. etc.
If you would have told 13 year old me that in 20 years I'll have access to millions upon millions of songs instantly I would have thought it would cost thousands of dollars. Instead it's the cost of buying one CD every other month, if that.

Sure, but my wife refuses to use her iPod or music on her phone. Hell, the car even has Bluetooth. I will say that CD's are no nonsense. You just pull one out and pop the next one in. With music on my phone, I find myself scrolling around for a while.
Also, the kid's stations on Pandora seem to have a problem with only playing the same couple of songs.

They will be obsolete soon.
However, if the past is any indicator they will keep putting them in vehicles for a long time. The 2010 Lexus SC 430 was the last car with a factory cassette player.
I didn't even know you could buy cassettes in 2010.

what?
i dont even think about it. between google music, spotify and pandora i have the universe at my fingertips and GPS cuts in when needed and my phone never leaves the passenger seat nor do i glance at it.
bluetooth connection to my car is enough to restart the music when i crank the engine or i can just say 'ok google play songs from the big chair' if i want to listen to an album for instance.
its all voice controlled.

Different strokes for different folks I guess. I need my phone to be a phone while driving. My headunit can handle the tunes and directions.
FWIW I haven't used a CD player in 5 years probably.
And I'm thinking about trading down in years to a 06 Wrangler so I might have to revaluate my situation then.

I use the CD slot in my car to mount the phone bracket in.
I will buy CDs online but download the tracks in mp3 and put the CD in a drawer when it shows.

My little $100 pioneer routes phone calls too.
You attach the mic to the steering column.

So your phone will play music, route your drive, and let you make phone calls simultaneously ?

It's optional equipment on the 2017 Lincoln Continentals.
