I had some relatives who would take me there once a month. It was awesome.

Occasionally when I'm hungry as heck and haven't had pizza in a long time, PH is good.

Even Little Ceasars(on Florida) back in the 80's was good. But that might've been b/c I was a kid and we hardly ate fast-food.

I think the buffet killed the "fine" aspects that was once Pizza Hut
me and the gf decided to eat at one here in Wichita (birthplace of Pizza Hut as well) not too long ago that looked fairly new and was set up like this. There’s one like it on the other side of town too I think. Maybe they’re trying to go back to this model

The buffet was still legit about 15 years ago, but it died not long after.

The Book It! personal pan pizza were clutch as a kid - had to practically damn beg my parents to let us redeem them though.

When I was a kid it was the GOAT pizza. I remember I loved going on field trips because we would get lunch at the hut on the way back. I haven't had it in years, though. I heard I'm not missing much.

This seems like the right answer. In the 80's my sister worked there, youth group went there once a week and eventually took one of my first dates there. Pizza good and served hot and delicious while tunes like Cindi Lauper was played.

Sometime in the 90s on a visit back to the South it occured to me it was shite.

Used to be, along with Taco Bell. They were both good then. They both went downhill after being acquired by Yum! Brands, the worst restaurant company in existence.

Pizza hut was great until all the others appeared and drove down prices to the point they could no sustain their business model anymore.

That is why pizza was more expensive in 1984 than it is today, today's pizza joints really do not make anything, it is just defrost and bake.

People just like to chose the cheapest option then bitch about quality rather than spend a few bucks more for a better product.

I still prefer it to all of the delivery type Pizza Chains. We will order once a month or so usually on a day she and I both work late.

On the note of the buffet, there is still one in my town and on Peachtree Industrial North of Atlanta.

Pizza Hut was good until ownership changed. Look it up....see who owns it now.
