Tree looked healthy, why take it down?
Probably because they didn’t want a storm to knock it down…. onto their house. lol.

Yeah the good companies would use a boom to take it down from top in sections.
My hispanic tree guy would go up and take the all branches down back to the trunk. And he uses ropes that would use the lower branches to support felling and dropping the branches. He would take the trunk down in segments. And he would charge prolly $1,500 for this tree. These guys didn't know what the hell; they were doing.
I say Hispanic because that's who they are and they are good at what they do and deserve credit.

I've hired a few crews like that, they are absolutely artists, I love to watch them do their work

No worries. I'm sure they were bonded.

The whole reason they probably paid these yahoos to cut it was so it wouldnt fall on their house
Really going out on a limb there

The whole tree was already leaning that way, like a runner waiting for the gun.

Looks like this was a planned demolition. I've been a tree surgeon for 30 years , cut many tree's this big and first off you would take the weight of the back leads hanging over the house first leaving the ones on the front to help it go away from the house. Second the rope had no tension on it , why would you climb a tree or use a throw ball to put a rope in a tree for pulling purposes and not use it.
We have 5 and 1 rope system pulling tree's that big that keeps tension on the tree the whole time your cutting it. Truthfully with a tree this big and leaning towards the house it should have been blocked down piece by piece , but looking at the condition of the house the tree job would almost cost as much as the house is worth. Looks like a fake tree going the wrong way to go viral . Or these are some really really dumb sonsabitches.

You can have cheap work or good work but rarely can you have both

Most of the ones that actually are insured and bonded take trees like that right next to a house down in sections.
With a crane.

Felling Gone Wild on Reddit is worth checking out from time to time. shite like this happens way too often. There is no shortage of idiots with chainsaws.
